Can Green Tea Reduce the Signs Of Aging?

[toc]

Of all the teas you can find in the markets, green tea is the one that has the least processing time. You are likely wondering why that would make a difference, we will get into that shortly. First, let’s get the basics. All tea must be from the Camellia Sinensis. Then the tea goes through a processing time. The different types of teas require different lengths of processing. It is that length of processing time that gives green gea all those healthy benefits that you hear so much about.

Due to the low time in processing, the antioxidant polyphenols are implicit in the tea leaves. ECGC, which is a catechin, is one of the loaded benefits of green tea. The ECGC, throughout minimal studies, has shown that those who consume green tea do have a slightly longer lifespan than those who do not drink tea. ECGC is known to reduce the stress producing proteins. That alone contributes greatly to the anti-aging process.

Help For Inflammation and Other Issues

Green tea also contains anti-inflammatory agents that are needed, but also quite beneficial to minimizing those wrinkles, expression lines and any sun damage that has happened. Certain catechins can also help lower the chance of skin cancers.

The reason people drink tea is not just because of the taste, they are thirsty. By drinking liquids, green tea is one of the most helpful in hydrating the body. When you are hydrated, your skin is hydrated. Your skin needs hydration to continue to be smooth and flexible.

Antioxidants that come from drinking green tea are more beneficial to your body than you would imagine. Antioxidants help you feel rejuvenated, those previously mentioned antioxidants will help reactivate the skin cells, and that helps to promote healing of skin blemishes and skin infections.

We hear so much about detox and how to help your body help itself. Green Tea is the method that is beneficial in detoxifying your body. Green Tea and those little antioxidants help pull the toxins out of your body and your system. Eliminating toxins helps to improve your skin tone and removes blemishes.

Your immune system also gains some much needed assistance from green tea. Bacterial infections and skin issues will be able to heal with less inflammation and less of the redness that comes with swelling and inflammation.

Not Just For Drinking

So many items have been improved to become ‘wearables’. Green Tea is no different. Green Tea can be used for a facial cleansing, by using a mask made from the tea. This can be done by combining green tea with plain yogurt. All you do is mix 3 tablespoons of yogurt with the tea leaves and then lather it on your face. Let it sit for 20 minutes and then wash it off. Using it as a mask will help improve skin cells and increase the collagen development of your own body. The nutrients are able to work through the top layer of skin and right on through all the other layers.

You can also make a facial scrub for your face. Mix the tea leaves with some honey and rub it onto your face. Let it sit for 15 minutes then take it off in a motion similar to circular. This will enable the tea leaves to help remove the dead skin cells. Honey will also give you and extra boost of Vitamin C. We can all use extra boosts of essential vitamins and minerals, and other nutrients. This leads one to believe that it is true that there is no end for the benefits one can gain from green tea.

Beneficial Evidence

So, they say green tea is the healthiest beverage on the planet huh? We need to examine how and why this statement is true.

Some of the benefits through antioxidants and other nutrients include:

  • Fat loss
  • Improved Brain Function
  • Lowering the Risk of cancer
  • Lowering risks of heart disease

When it comes to fat loss, green tea is found in many diet supplements worldwide. Green Tea contains caffeine, which in turn is supposed to help improve and increase the metabolic rate. In one study done with ten healthy males, green tea increased calories burned by 4%, Another study showed that green tea helped increase the fat oxidation by 17%. To be fair, there are some tests that have shown no change in metabolic rate. The caffeine in green tea has shown improvement in physical performance by enabling the fatty acids from the fat cells to work towards calorie burning and using it as energy.

Green tea and its caffeine has shown to improve your alertness each day. Caffeine is a stimulant which causes your brain to be alert. Granted, green tea does not have as much caffeine as coffee, however, coffee does not have the benefits of green tea.  This research has consistently shown that caffeine is great for improving one’s mood, reaction time, vigilance and memory. There have been reports that people claim to have a longer lasting and steady energy increase with green tea versus coffee.

Antioxidants are known to help protect against oxidative damage. This damage is what can and often does lead to some cancers. This oxidative damage often leads to chronic inflammation and many chronic diseases. Green tea is a leader in providing antioxidants.

Green tea has been shown to improve the antioxidants in the blood, which ultimately helps to lower the bad cholesterol and increase the good cholesterol.

What does all this mean for you and I? The benefits come from a biological compound called polyphenols, these are found in green tea. Within these polyphenols you find a group of these that literally destroy the free radicals in your body and that leads to slowing down the aging process.

There was one study that showed that amyloid could not survive when confronted with catechins from green tea. When the antioxidant comes across a free radical, it somewhat puts it into a big bear hug of sorts. This bear hug then reduces the intensity that the free radical has and makes it less harmful to your body.

Your body uses oxygen, the issue is that this oxygen also produces those bad free radicals. There is nothing you can do to stop the production from the oxygen. Skin damage is caused by those free radicals and the sun, infections or injuries. Those polyphenols will assist your body to repair the damage to the skin.

Drinking green tea has also been shown to provide additional DNA protection from those harmful ultraviolet rays from the sun.

Many people have been told to use Benzoyl peroxide on their faces to eliminate acne. The problem with that? Benzoyl Peroxide has been linked to skin tumors recently. Green Tea is a natural astringent. Green tea will help improve skin from the inside out. As stated earlier, it can also be used as a face mask to help detoxify your facial skin. However, if you apply the green tea mask before you use the Benzoyl peroxide, the chances of getting a skin tumor is lessened.

I am sure that you have seen all the products available that contain Tea Tree Oil. This move has been made to include many cosmetics that are used daily. The EGCG gives such a boost of strength to the antioxidants that they are able to defeat the free radicals. Tea has been part of our lives for thousands of years. Tea has shown that it improves health, mind, moods and your overall general health.

Summary

So many people tend to miss the importance of simple ingredients that can lead to happy, healthier lives. Instead they choose to spend hundreds, if not thousands on some new fad, a new trend that is out. Green tea will not only improve your overall health, it will improve your moods, your skin and your brain. Green tea will also save you thousands of dollars over time by not falling for so many fads or trends just because they are touted by a famous face.

In reality, these famous people are paid to do the advertising. I can think of one famous female who has a cosmetic line, spouts off about being healthy and yet, advertises for one of those top new fads. In fact, this person was bullied due to skin issues, her weight, all of the things that people spend tons of money on to solve their problems. This person turned to drinking green tea and also physically working out. No one focuses on her shows where she shows everyone a daily routine, proper eating and also drinking her green tea.

If more people listen to their bodies, drink tea, and eat healthy they may discover that their health issues would be fewer.  So drink up, guys! Whether you like your tea hot or cold, just grab the green tea and start chugging. You will stay hydrated  by drinking the green tea too.
