Are canned green peas less nutritious than frozen? Based on their total antioxidant content, the answer would be yes, because they have an ORAC value which is over 75% lower than frozen peas. However other nutritional values such as carbs, protein, and calories will be identical whether its canned, frozen, or fresh green peas. If using canned, try and buy the versions with no added salt as those are healthier, especially if you have high blood pressure.

The sample tested was Green Giant and purchased in the US. The vegetable solids were drained and seperated from the liquids before testing.
