Also known as mountain ash berries, their bright red-orange color really stands out. They're in the Rosaceae family (roses) so they are not closely related to most other berries you're familiar with.

They grow in the northern hemisphere and there are several dozen species under this umbrella. American mountain-ash, European rowan, Korean whitebeam, and Ladder rowan just to name a few. The sample used in this test were a wild harvest from Norway.
