We were a bit perplexed to see this in the USDA's report of ORAC values for "common" foods, because this clearly is not one. What is honey wine vinegar anyway?

A bit of research reveals there are only a couple manufacturers for this obscure product, which is very expensive. For example, the brand Slide Ridge honey vinegar reportedly costs $50 for a 750 ml bottle at Whole Foods based on at least one online review, but we can't find it at any Whole Foods in the Los Angeles area to verify that. As the name implies, it is basically a vinegar which is made using unfiltered raw wildflower honey. We do not know which brand the USDA tested but whichever it was, it demonstrates that very little antioxidants are in the product. Therefore if one purchases it, they should be doing so for taste and its other health benefits.
