The antioxidant value of Japanese Persimmon Fruit, Raw described in ORAC units is: 742 μ mol TE/100g.

There are hundreds of different persimmon species, though only a few are cultivated commercially. This test was for the Japanese persimmon (Diospyros kaki L.) and it's the most commonly consumed. The sample used in this test was grown in Israel.

With an ORAC value comparable to pineapple, how much antioxidant activity the persimmon has is not impressive, though research suggests its tannin content may offer other health benefits.
