Whole Flaxseed

ORAC Value:
800
μ mol TE/100g.

The antioxidant value of Whole Flaxseed described in ORAC units is: 800 μ mol TE/100g.

Whole flax measures about 30% lower than the ORAC value of flaxseed when its ground. However this is largely irrelevant being that the typical serving, two tablespoons of the seed, will only weigh 14 grams and therefore provide an ORAC which is about 85% less than the number you see reflected above (since that represents a 100 gram serving). The benefits of flax are not antioxidants, but rather omega 3 and protein. Males should be aware that they rank at the top of the estrogen foods list.
