Lime Juice, Raw

ORAC Value:
823
μ mol TE/100g.

The antioxidant value of Lime Juice, Raw described in ORAC units is: 823 μ mol TE/100g.

When you look at lime juice vs. fresh lime, the difference in ORAC value is 10 fold.

That may seem crazy but it makes sense, because once you squeeze out the juice, mostly all that's left is fibrous content which doesn't contain a lot of nutrition (other than fiber, of course). Therefore most of the antioxidants are in the juice, the fresh lime is mostly dead weight coming from fiber.

When you compare lime juice and lemon juice, the values differ by a fair amount. Lemon juice is 1225 compared to lime's 823. Perhaps lemonade is better than limeade, since you get nearly 50% more antioxidants with it!
