What is the difference between instant and quick oats? Not much. Instant oats are fully cooked, meaning as soon as you pour hot water on them they are ready to eat. Quick oats are about 80 to 90% cooked, still requiring another 2 to 5 minutes, however many people simply pour boiling water on them and wait a couple minutes (rather than get out a pot and actually cook them on the stove). Between quick oats versus instant oats, the difference in antioxidant content is negligible.
