ARRRGHHHH! Its one of the first things doctors want to put you on once you get past 50, They assume you have troubles with constipation and muscle cramps. I had no problems with either but my doctor advised me to try it. All it did for me was make me have miserable little, unsatisfying bowel movements all day long, and have sleep apnea. So, I ditched the magnesium and went back to normal. I have started to take many more vitamins and supplements now to help my immune system during the pandemic and to help my thyroid function better. I began to have bowel problems again, all day long. So, I checked to see how many supplements I took listed magnesium stearate in their “other” ingredients, and found that all 5 types that I took had it. It’s very frustrating to find so much of an unwanted mineral in everything. I thought I was in control of what I put into my body but ha ha. So now I am searching the “other” ingredients label and trying to limit my intake of magnesium stearate. Thanks a lot healthy supplement companies.

Comment on Best Acai Powder Brand: Navitas, Feel Good, Terrasoul or Kiva by Peggy https://superfoodly.com/best-acai-powder/#comment-76645 Tue, 09 Feb 2021 19:53:00 +0000 https://superfoodly.com/?p=11803#comment-76645 Thank you for your comprehensive review. This is the fifth review I read, and the first that made me feel that the review was honest. Several of them looked like the exact same review, and had grammatical errors that made them seem a little suspicious.
Your pictures definitely helped because it let me know the review was coming from a person and not a bot.
You definitely helped me reach a decision. I had been using KOS. I’m happy with the company. However, while the acai powder is OK, it is acai juice powder, which made me start to think I was not getting the nutritional benefits I was seeking. It is like using grape Kool-Aid, when I really need grape juice.

Comment on 30 Amla Fruit (Indian Gooseberry) Benefits and 1 Bad Effect by Kathlyn Frazey https://superfoodly.com/amla-fruit-powder-indian-gooseberry-benefits/#comment-76582 Mon, 08 Feb 2021 22:46:46 +0000 https://superfoodly.com/?p=7077#comment-76582 My husband discovered he needed emergency quadruple bypass surgery. he had been on a cardio supplement for less than two weeks that contained amla fruit, along with other well known antioxidants at the time. The surgeon carefully tested his blood and found that his platelets were affected at the same receptor site as the blood thining drug Plavix has activity. they held off the surgery for 4-5 days, hoping to clear his system of this compound and finally went ahead with blood products on hand. The surgeon told me that this may well have saved his life. he said that if my husband went back on this supplement, he should carry a note that he was on this and what it does (in the event of an emergency). This is very powerful stuff!

Comment on Toxic Difference: Saigon Vietnamese Cinnamon vs. Ceylon by Rachel Colorado https://superfoodly.com/saigon-vietnamese-cinnamon/#comment-76541 Sun, 07 Feb 2021 21:58:31 +0000 https://superfoodly.com/?p=8878#comment-76541 THANK YOU THANK YOU for this knowledge. During winters in the past few years, I had been drinking a hot drink made with 1 tsp. of VIETNAMESE KILL MY LIVER CINNAMON. There were phases when this was for sure a daily intake. I am now on a diet that works on optimizing detox pathways that help get rid of alcohols, aldehydes, glyphosate and retinols. So, I’m already not taking cinnamon anymore, but I’m so appreciative to have this knowledge.

That seems to be purely speculative. There is reason to suspect it, but no existing data to evidence it. A multi-brand analysis should be conducted to screw a lid on the debate.

Comment on 100 Quercetin Foods: Best Natural Sources Ranked by Hemeiron https://superfoodly.com/quercetin-foods/#comment-76274 Mon, 01 Feb 2021 15:35:30 +0000 https://superfoodly.com/?p=7686#comment-76274 Yikes. You put dock on the list. DO NOT EAT DOCK.

It is loaded with oxalic acid. This hinders nutrient absorption if you eat it daily. It can also poison you. Dock should only be eaten sparingly, or by people who have a genetic adaptation to it, namely native peoples who’ve had thousands of years to become accustomed to it. And even then they do not eat it every day.

Sites like this are frustrating because they need daily content to stay in business so they’ll basically publish anything at all, no matter the quality. Their little disclaimer protects them from legal liability which is why they have no problem publishing information, that, if actually used, could sicken or kill people. If they were just so sure about the “facts” here, there would be no disclaimer.

If for one have put this site in my blocked list so I never even accidentally navigate here ever again.

Comment on Do Antibacterial Towels Like Norwex BacLock Work Safely? by Rori https://superfoodly.com/antibacterial-towels-norwex-baclock/#comment-76229 Sun, 31 Jan 2021 17:31:43 +0000 https://superfoodly.com/?p=10408#comment-76229 As mentioned by another commenter, the silver that is in Norwex cloths is NOT nanosilver, it is microsilver which is a very different thing and also EPA approved. It does not leach out of the cloths like nanosilver and it is actually fused into the fibers the cloths are made from rather than just coating the fibers. Because microsilver particles are are larger than nanosilver, they will not penetrate skin cells, so even if any did leach out, it is not a concern for your skin and is the same as what is used in silver containing ointments and dressings that are used for wound care. As you state in this article, it is for self-cleaning purposes in the cloth only and does not kill bacteria on your surfaces, but the density of the microfiber in Norwex cloths which is made from fibers that are the size of 1/200th of a human hair, has the ability to remove 99% of bacteria from your surfaces mechanically and traps that bacteria in the cloth until you rinse it out. When you hang the cloth to dry, the microsilver then goes to work on any bacteria left in the cloth by interfering with its ability to replicate and it suffocates it and the bacteria die.
