Rhodiola Rosea grows wild around here, in abundance.
The traditional way is to take it as a tincture: the root is washed, cut, and soaked in strong vodka for a couple weeks, then strained and taken by the spoonful. It works much like ginseng. Good stuff!
I was under the impression that alcohol was necessary for extraction of the active substances, and that simply brewing a tea on the sliced root would not have much effect. Is there any topical research available on this, or will I just have to find out for myself?

I’ve taken Rhodiola for years, I actually get a come down in the afternoon from it (similar to a stimulant) so I take an afternoon or more specifically 2pm dosage and I’m fine.

I also take this in combination with Withinaia and at university REALLY notice a difference in energy and stress levels.

I’m also the same as Sharon and have had SSRI’s etc for over 10 years and all other stimulant medication(s).
