My kid was allergic to bees and I read somewhere that it was toxic to hornets and yellow jackets so I would put some in a spray bottle and in the fall when they could be really bothersome I’d spray it on the outside kids tables, etc.
It worked for about an hour at a time but that’s good enough.

Then I planted peppermint in the grass and let it spread in the yard and we never had any nesting or wasps after that.
