Eating the real food is the single most important anti disease measure you can take, namely 10 fruits and veggies per day, 3 whole grains a day, 3 servings of beans a day, and no oil sugar or salt. Mushrooms are known for their immune boosting potential and I am cooking with them 3 times a week or so, especially now during the pandemic.
You might consider the award winnig Nobel prize in medicine of immunotherapy, the sixth wave of anti cancer treatment. My husband was on this for a year to prevent metastatic melanoma from returning. His immune system was so ramped up that any cold he got lasted only 1-2 days and left. This was like a miracle to him because the colds used to cause him to wheeze. Now that he is off the immunotherapy colds last 3-5 days and he still does not wheeze. He also went off all meat dairy eggs and animal proteins, lost 25 lbs, and this too may have had a huge anti wheeze effect as well.
Given the standard american diet is so poor, and deprived of whole grains and fruits and veggies, this is the time to get healthy, eat mushrooms in vegetarian no salt no oil chili, soups and salads. We feel so much more healthy on this diet and full of energy its unbelievable. I say eat your mushrooms, cook with them weekly. dont waste money on supplements when you can eat the real thing.
Please…I wish i knew more about the different kinds of mushrooms, for myself I rotate buying the varied mushrooms that I find in the stores, ..and I wish to find a course to teach me to forage for mushrooms like my Eastern European ancestors did.
